What we take

What builders’ waste we collect

From a few bags of rubble to full renovation loads:

  • Rubble, bricks, concrete and tiles
  • Soil and hardcore (where accepted)
  • Wood, timber and old doors
  • Plasterboard — on its own or in mixed loads
  • Packaging, cardboard and offcuts
  • Mixed loads from kitchen and bathroom refits
Hazardous materials: asbestos and some chemicals need specialist removal. Send photos and we’ll confirm what we can take.
Why use a licensed carrier

Builders’ waste removal done properly

Building and renovation work produces a lot of heavy debris. Leaving it on site — or overloading a skip — can be unsafe, block access and lead to fines if the waste isn’t disposed of correctly.

Handing it over to a licensed waste carrier takes that risk off your shoulders. We load the waste for you, take it to licensed facilities and recycle as much as possible — much construction waste, such as rubble, metal and wood, can be recovered.

We work for homeowners, builders and trades — from one-off renovation clear-ups to repeat collections from the same site. Afirmax is a registered waste carrier (licence CBDU317594).

Your duty of care

Anyone who hands over waste has a legal duty to check it goes to an authorised carrier. If it ends up fly-tipped by an unlicensed operator, you can be fined as well. Three simple checks protect you:

  • Check the licence. Ours is CBDU317594 and you can look it up on the Environment Agency’s public register of waste carriers.
  • Keep the paperwork. Businesses and trades should keep each waste transfer note for two years. Ask us for one when you book.
  • Keep plasterboard apart where you can. It has to be handled separately at waste sites, so a separate pile makes loading quicker.

Skip or collection

Skip hire or a waste collection: which suits your job?

A collection usually suits you if

  • the waste is already bagged or piled up and ready to go
  • there is no room on your drive, and a skip on the road would need a council permit
  • you would rather we did the loading
  • the job produces waste in one or two batches

A skip may suit you better if

  • you will be adding waste bit by bit over several weeks
  • you have a private drive with room for one
  • you are happy to load it yourself

Not sure which makes sense? Send photos of the job and we’ll tell you honestly.

Questions

FAQ

How much does builders’ waste removal cost in London?

It depends on the volume, weight and type of material and access. Send photos + your postcode on WhatsApp and we’ll reply with a fixed price — no hidden fees.

Do I need a skip or a skip permit?

No. We load the waste straight into our van and take it away in one visit — no skip hire, no permit and no waiting for collection.

Do you take plasterboard?

Yes — plasterboard on its own or mixed in with other builders’ waste. Send photos and we’ll confirm the price.

Can you do regular collections for builders?

Yes. We work with builders and trades on repeat collections from the same site — get in touch to arrange it.

What can’t you take?

Asbestos and some hazardous chemicals need specialist removal. If you’re unsure, send a photo and we’ll advise.

Do I get a waste transfer note?

Yes. Ask for one when you book. Businesses and trades should keep each note for two years.

Should I bag the rubble before you arrive?

It helps, but it isn’t essential. We can load bagged or loose rubble. Just tell us which it is when you send photos, because weight affects the quote.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?

Yes. Afirmax Rubbish Removal is a registered waste carrier (licence CBDU317594) and all waste goes to licensed facilities.
