Rubbish removal vs skip hire vs council collection
Thinking about hiring a skip? Here’s how a rubbish removal service compares.
| Question | Afirmax | Skip hire | Council bulky waste |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the loading? | We do all the lifting | You load the skip yourself | You carry items outside |
| How fast? | Same / next day when available | Delivery, then collection days later | Often a wait of days or weeks |
| Permit needed? | No | Yes, if the skip goes on the road | No |
| Space needed | None — we load and go | Room on your drive or road | Items wait outside for collection |
| What can go? | Most household, garden & builders’ waste | Some items not allowed | Limited items per collection |
| Price | Fixed, all-in price from photos | Hire fee, plus permit if needed | Fee per collection (varies by council) |
Skip hire and council services vary by supplier and local authority — always check the details locally.
